Such was the case around the globe, and remains true today in some parts of the world. Imagine a time when identifying as LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning) wasn’t just socially unacceptable, but was also worthy of a prison sentence.
